Summary of Duties Supervise housekeeping and laundry activities of the facility in accordance with established policies and procedures and applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines, and regulations to assure that the facility is maintained in a clean and safe manner for all residents.

Essential Job Functions

Supervise the day‑to‑day environmental services (housekeeping) functions of facility.

Assign employees to specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.

Assist in the orientation and training of departmental employees.

Train assigned employees in the proper techniques of mixing chemicals, cleaning disinfectants, and solutions; of cleaning methods; and the use of equipment, etc.

Make daily rounds to assure that employees are performing required duties and to assure that appropriate procedures are being rendered to meet the needs of the facility.

Meet with employees to assist in identifying and correcting problem areas and/or improving services.

Conduct inspections of assigned work areas to assure that cleanliness and sanitary conditions are maintained.

Perform other duties as required, including housekeeping and special projects.

Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent required. Minimum of two (2) years experience in a healthcare environment and minimum of one‑year supervisory experience required.

Physical Requirements for Essential Job Functions

Must be able to move about consistently throughout the workday.

Must be able to reach, bend, and/or stoop intermittently throughout the work day.

Must be able to walk/stand 75% of the day.

Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or carry up to 50 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.

Must be able to push, pull, or move a minimum of 100 pounds utilizing proper body mechanics and assistance.

Must be able to see and hear or use prosthetics that will enable these senses to function adequately to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
