We have an immediate opening for an
Automotive Equipment Mechanic . This position is located at our corporate office/distribution facility in Cape Girardeau, Mo. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical/electrical background. Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills are a must for this role. If you have these qualities, we have training opportunities available to teach you about our specific types of equipment.
COMPENSATION: Pay ranges from $20- $22 per hour depending on experience.
Responsibilities and Duties The Automotive Equipment Technician will work on tire changers, balancers, lifts, alignment racks and other types of equipment used in automotive facilities. Duties include equipment installation, maintenance, repair and replacement. Basic automotive knowledge is a plus but is not required. Position includes travel with some overnights.
Qualifications
Experience working on various types of equipment (automotive equipment experience is a plus)
Strong mechanical/electrical background as demonstrated by previous experience
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
Must be at least 18 years old
Have a valid driver’s license with a Class E endorsement
Own your own hand tools
Ability to work a minimum of five days, including Saturday's

Working Conditions and Physical Demands The
Automotive Equipment Technician
will be exposed to moderate to loud noises, dust, exhaust fumes, lubricants, petroleum products, vapors, caustic materials, and other hazardous and non-hazardous materials. The temperature in the work environment varies and could include extreme heat and/or extreme cold depending on the ambient temperatures outside. The use of safety goggles or other PPE may be required when working in these conditions.
The
Automotive Equipment Technician
must be able to meet the following physical requirements:
Stand up to eight hours per day in the shop and able to walk to gain access to various areas of the building
Bend, stoop, kneel and crouch regularly throughout the day; must have full range of motion with arms and hands and be able to feel, handle or finger objects frequently
Lift and/or move up to 10 pounds regularly, lift and/or move up to 70 pounds frequently.
Communicate with customers and shop personnel
Vision sufficient to detect color, depth, and re-focus
