Job Summary:
The Lead Server is responsible for overseeing the restaurant operations, ensuring a high standard of guest experience, and managing both front‑of‑house and basic kitchen operations. This role combines hands‑on service, light food preparation, guest interaction, and supervisory duties. The position requires strong organizational, interpersonal, and leadership skills, as well as the ability to maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment.
Duties/Responsibilities:
Set up, restock, and maintain cleanliness of the breakfast area.
Serve breakfast and beverages to guests, ensuring friendly and professional service.
Prepare simple food items and beverages.
Handle transactions using the POS system.
Supervise and support waitstaff and kitchen assistants during restaurant hours.
Manage guest reservations and oversee the flow of service.
Address guest requests and resolve complaints diplomatically.
Conduct daily inspections to ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
Follow all alcohol service procedures.
Assist with training and supervising front‑of‑house staff.
Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs).
Coordinate with kitchen and event staff for special functions or banquets.
Perform inventory checks and ensure sufficient supplies for service.
Sanitize all cleaning tools and maintain equipment at the end of each shift.
Assist other departments as needed to ensure optimal guest service.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
Strong supervisory skills.
Excellent interpersonal and customer service abilities.
Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to follow recipes and culinary procedures.
Familiarity with food handling, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
Ability to function well in a fast‑paced, sometimes stressful environment.
Proficiency with POS and scheduling systems.
Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Willingness to work long hours, irregular shifts, weekends, and holidays.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous Food and Beverage service experience preferred.
Experience in guest‑facing roles and basic food preparation.
Physical Requirements:
Able to stand for prolonged periods.
Able to climb stairs.
Able to walk kitchen and service public areas.
Able to twist, bend, reach and pull.
Able to lift up to 50 pounds.
