Nemours Children's Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware is hiring a Pediatric Cardiovascular Surgery APP. The incumbent will provide independent and collaborative care as a member of the Cardiology team for pediatric patients requiring cardiac surgery. This role includes care from the pre-operative to post-operative period. This provider will also provide patient education and contribute to care coordination for patients undergoing cardiac surgery.
In addition, this provider will provide patient care to patients in general cardiology clinic. As a professional team member, the cardiac surgery advanced practice provider identifies opportunities to improve services, makes recommendations, and implements actions to promote consistency with high quality patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Responsible for collaborative medical management and cardiac surgical care of pediatric patients.
Responsible for communicating with families and coordinating care across multiple specialties for both the hospital and outpatient setting.
Practices collaboratively with physicians and other health care providers to provide high quality health care to children.
Performs ongoing assessment and evaluation of patient progress and revision of interdisciplinary plan of care.
Responsible for prescribing medications.
Responsible for ordering and interpretation of lab work.
Identifies patient/family need for further resources and initiates appropriate referrals.
Evaluates compliance with the prescribed treatment regimen through telephone calls, family/patient assessments and outpatient visits as needed.

Qualifications
Three years of related clinical experience preferred
Physician Assistant Licensure with or without prescriptive authority required
Active Delaware (or compact state) Registered Nurse Licensure required for PNPs
Active Delaware Advanced Practice Nurse Licensure, with or without prescriptive authority required
Delaware Controlled Substance Registration (CSR) & Federal DEA registration with Delaware Address
Current AHA BLS certification
