Job Title
Event Planning Coordinator
Department Student Life | Ohio Union
Responsibilities
Work with the Event Services Team and student staff to produce high‑quality events for customers of the Ohio Union.
Collaborate closely with event staff including catering, audio‑visual, and production teams; provide service for customers hosting events in and around the Ohio Union.
Work with customers to map out event needs including catering, AV, and production requirements.
Plan food and beverage services, catering, and other specific needs for conference groups and meetings.
Consult with clients and vendors regarding detailed arrangements.
Plan catering for conferences, meetings and special events; oversee and ensure smooth execution of assigned events.
Serve as contact for customer needs before, during and after events.
Proactively work with event schedule and student staff to determine upcoming event>
Coordinate information about events with other university departments.
Be available to work evenings and weekends, as required.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
2 years of relevant experience.
Flexibility in schedule, including evening and weekend work in conjunction with scheduled events.
Desired Qualifications
2–4 years of university event planning and/or production experience.
Experience using event management and room diagramming software.
High‑volume food and beverage or catering experience.
Experience servicing and/or selling to customers in a university setting.
Strong communication, organizational skills and excellent rapport with customers.
Attention to detail and follow‑through skills.
Working knowledge of audiovisual equipment and professional printers.
Compensation $19.28–$25.19. Offer based on internal equity and qualifications.
Location Ohio Union (0161), Columbus, OH
Employment Type Regular, Full‑time (40 hours), Varying shifts.
