The Grill Room Manager is a key, highly visible position designed to assist the Assistant GM and Dining Room Manager with the daily operation and supervision of Nassau Country Club’s food & beverage service program. It is his/her responsibility to oversee proper floor management of daily food & beverage activities in the Grill to ensure a professional dining environment while attending to the needs and requests of the membership. The Grill Room Manager’s foremost responsibility is to create and support an excellent service culture and deliver a first‑class service dining experience in the Grill Room and upon request, each of the dining/social venues of the Club.
Qualifications
Knowledge of POS systems and reporting
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Polished, professional appearance and presentation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Able to work long hours; including evenings, weekends and holidays
Job Tasks/Duties
Supervises all Grill Room Wait & Bar staff
Provides guidance and direction to team members, including setting performance standards and monitoring performance. The latter to be done with the Dining Room Manager.
Monitors employee dress codes according to policies and procedures
Maintains a constant presence on the floor during hours of dining service
Greets and escorts members and guests to tables and provides menus
Responsible for taking dining reservations for a la carte and special functions
Works with kitchen, beverage, administrative and other Club departments
Responsible for maintaining the POS system
Assigns daily side work and creates prep lists in advance of food service
Maintains inventory of Grill room equipment and supplies, and ensures proper storage and handling
Serves as manager‑on‑duty when required
Performs other duties as necessary
Compensation Competitive Hourly rate ranging from $23 per hour to $28 per hour depending on experience.
