Job Summary The Food & Beverage Manager of the Family Grill at Ridglea Country Club oversees the daily operations, team members, programming, member experience, and financial performance of the Family Grill Restaurant. This position ensures a clean, safe, welcoming environment and delivers high‑quality services to members and their guests. The Food & Beverage Manager upholds all club policies and safety standards while shaping a family‑focused environment and culture.

Responsibilities

Maintains a clean and organized dining room to a consistently high standard every day.

Coordinates daily pre‑shift meetings with all servers to advise them of food specials, service standard reminders, and general member and event information for the day, as well as any club policy changes.

Assists servers in suggesting and describing various appetizers, entrees, desserts, alcoholic beverages and wine to members and guests.

Counsels with other managers and employees about employee grievances and complaints; directs problem correction where possible.

Maintains contact with members and helps to assure maximum member satisfaction.

Receives and resolves complaints from club members, guests and employees.

Interacts with members answering questions, solving problems, overseeing services and cleanliness and showing the club facilities to visitors.

Creates and markets all Family Grill dining room promotions and themes utilizing training of staff, table tents and The Scene monthly newsletter. Responsible for reporting all new Scene information to the Catering Department by the last day of each month for the upcoming edition (ex. June 30 for August scene).

Maintains manager’s presence on the floor during all peak hours. Be available and step in to assist on the floor when servers get busy. Take orders, deliver cocktails and/or food, clear tables, and make cocktails as needed.

Greets guests and oversees actual service on a routine basis. Practices “Management by being visible.” This is done to ensure that one can meet and establish a rapport with the members and remain aware of their concerns.

Assists with the management of club functions and private special events when needed.

Maintains proper PAR levels of China, glass and silver by conducting quarterly inventory checks and quarterly complete inventory counts. Report any discrepancies to the Director of Operations.

Assists in completing the Family Grill annual operational and capital budgets.

Works with the Director of Operations to meet budgetary goals, by having server promotions, and competitions as well as creating room promotions to increase both average check price as well as overall member usage.

Maintains and monitors uniform inventory, cleanliness and appearance. Replace worn uniforms when needed.

Monitors internal cost‑control procedures.

Assures that all safety, accident, and emergency policies and procedures are in place and consistently followed. Coordinate with other managers to conduct a safety training session with staff monthly. Report topic and attendance to Payroll.

Maintains control of food and beverage chits. Ensures they are all complete and turned into the receptionist nightly.

Maintains and reports all member comps for the Family Grill.

Participates in ongoing facility inspections in the Family Grill and throughout the club to assure that cleanliness, safety and other standards are consistently attained.

Monitors labor and evaluates scheduled versus actual labor hours and costs.

Undertakes special projects as requested by the Director of Operations.

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations

Food and beverage cost controls and operating procedures.

Accounting.

Wine, spirits, and bar operations.

Point‑of‑sale systems; JONAS knowledge is a plus.

Golf knowledge is a plus.

Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.

Polished, professional appearance and presentation.

Manage stress and time.

Build a team, train, and maintain employee teams.

Effective communication through all department levels and throughout the club.

Knowledge and ability to perform required role during emergency situations.

Education and/or Experience

Four‑year college or university degree in Hospitality Management preferred.

Five to eight years or more as a Food and Beverage Manager; upscale dining preferred.

Licenses and Special Requirements

Food safety certification.

Alcoholic beverage certification.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

Required to stand for long periods and walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch and twist, reach, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.

Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Push, pull or lift up to 50 lbs.

Work in hot, humid, and noisy environments.
