Base pay range $23.00/hr - $31.00/hr

Position Summary As a Prepared Foods and Café Department Lead you will drive sales in your area and supervise your team of hourly associates who create and serve meals to our members - giving them more of what they love, for less. You will model expertise in Prepared Foods and Café and work collaboratively with other team leaders to ensure the total club meets the member’s expectations.

Responsibilities

Be a Team Leader

– Supervises the team within all prepared foods departments (e.g., café, rotisserie, and prepared foods) by facilitating rotations through different fresh areas and managing members’ needs to deliver on the business plan and contribute to the overall success of your club. Communicates the department's goals, executes company programs, adheres to policies, and advocates for the member, associate, and the company.

Be an Expert

– Maintains in-depth knowledge of business on the floor and backroom operations by ensuring the prepared foods area meets company and regulatory standards for quality, inventory, production, sanitation, equipment usage, safety, and compliance. Manages seasonality in production, understands new products, recipes, processes, and production specifications, and prioritizes time between areas.

Collaborate with Associates

– Works with team members and third parties to ensure the team has resources to do their job effectively. Shares knowledge and trains the team.

Be a Techie

– Leverages digital tools to plan for and drive sales, improve the shopping experience, and elevate associate engagement. Utilizes handheld technology for immediate business decisions related to production training and product quality, adopts new tools, and encourages others to use them.

Be an Owner

– Drives the business results, ensuring commitment to operational excellence, planning for profitability, maintaining a neat, clean, and safe work area, ensuring appropriate staffing levels, accurately auditing and complying with standards, and producing and displaying merchandise according to the layout plan. Engages with other departments and third‑party partners (maintenance, suppliers, equipment vendors) to ensure operational continuity.

Be a Talent Ambassador

– Teaches and trains the team, identifies training needs, and develops necessary skills to deliver high‑quality products. Encourages career growth for team members and sources new talent internally and externally. Develops, communicates, and implements processes to meet business needs, collaborates with managers and co‑workers, analyzes information, monitors progress, and identifies improvement opportunities.

Promote Integrity

– Supports and implements compliance with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards. Provides guidance and action plans using an Open Door Policy. Assists management with correcting ethical and compliance issues.

Lead and Participate in Teams

– Shares resources, information, and tools; determines customer needs and business priorities; coordinates and executes work assignments; provides feedback and support to ensure quality and timing; adapts to change or new challenges.

Qualifications

Minimum 6 months experience in a fresh production department or 6 months experience supervising a team.

Must be 18 years of age or older.

Successful completion of all required training and assessments within specified time if hired.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience supervising a team.

Food Handler Certification (Food Safety).

Compensation The hourly wage range for this position is $23.00 to $31.00. Actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage. Additional compensation may be paid in premiums from $0.35–$3.00 per hour for specific circumstances.
