Overview The Federal Club is a private 18‑hole bent grass fairway facility located in Glen Allen, Virginia, just outside of Richmond. Our club boasts over 450 members and is currently on a wait‑list for membership. In October 2026, The Federal Club will play host to the season‑ending Korn Ferry Tour Championship.

A long‑time supporter of the USGA, The Federal Club has had the honor of hosting multiple U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, and U.S. Senior Open qualifiers. In 2018, we held the VSGA State Amateur and in 2024 the VSGA Junior Stroke Play. We have a multi‑year, multi‑event pact with the VSGA, culminating in another VSGA State Amateur in 2030.

Our nationally recognized practice facilities are equipped with the following:

2 bent grass range tees

2 zoysia grass range tees

2 practice putting greens, 1 chipping green

TurfHound mat system

Private golf instruction area

Practice fairway bunkers

3‑acre short game area with over 80 yards of fairway/rough practice

Experience Required

Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional or other position in the golf business. Preferably at a private facility but not required. Less than 2 years' experience may be considered.

PGA Class A Members or registered associates working towards their Class A status preferred but others will also be considered.

Experience with Golf Genius Premium and Microsoft Office.

Experience with TrackMan is a plus.

Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail a must.

Essential Responsibilities

Assist the Head Golf Professional with all golf operations.

Hire, train, schedule and supervise all inside and outside operation staff, including starters and marshals.

Assist members and guests by providing and interpreting policies, rules, and regulations.

Manage the golf shop at peak times in conjunction with the golf shop manager.

Ensure all members and guests are greeted and welcomed in a professional and courteous manner. Maintain a high profile with members and guests.

Monitor the Pace of Play Program.

Assist with Tournament Operations including golf course marking.

Provide club fitting and club repair services as needed.

Professionally communicate information and sell merchandise and become fully knowledgeable in all products and sales techniques.

Be available to play golf with a variety of members. Play golf in Chapter and Section events.

Assist in the planning and execution of outings, tournaments, and leagues/socials.

Work with our Outside Operations Manager to oversee the operations of the cart barn, bag room, and pushcart storage.
