GoHealth - Northwell**Job Relationships**Responsible to: Market Medical DirectorAssignments received from: Medical Director and Deputy Medical DirectorPositions supervised: Physician, Physician Assistant, Nurse Practitioner**Job Summary**Within assigned urgent care centers and geographic region:* Manages and directs all clinical services, is primarily responsible for the quality of care, clinical regulatory compliance, and the supervision of all clinical caregivers.* Collaborates across and within regions to share resources, implement improvement initiatives, and optimize clinical, financial, operational, and customer service performance in partnership with the relevant operational leader (operations director or VP)* Accountable for financial, operational, and clinical goal attainment with operational partnerThis role has a 50% administrative requirement and a 50% clinical requirement.**Job Requirements**Education* MD Degree or equivalent from an accredited College of Medicine.* Completion of Medical Residency with Board Certification or eligibility.OR* Bachelor's Degree required for Physician Assistants* Master's Degree required *for Nurse Practitioners*Work Experience* Administrative experience in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Urgent Care, or related field, preferably in a major medical center or health system, required.* Outstanding communication and management skills, and an ability to work collaboratively with GoHealth staff, management, health system partners, and other stakeholders.* Must possess recent experience in generally accepted and currently used clinical methods and techniques.Required Licenses/Certifications * Currently licensed as a physician, nurse practitioner, or physician assistant in the State of New York and/or Connecticut (as necessitated by assigned geography)Additional Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required* Clinical skills commensurate with a practice of evidence-based care and knowledge of standard of care for all common urgent care diagnoses* Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Outlook* Super-user level skills with a currently in-use electronic medical record* Strong experience and skills in presentation of clinical and administrative topics to audiences of clinical and non-clinical staff in both formal in informal settings* Data analytics**Essential Functions***Essential functions are those tasks, duties and responsibilities that comprise the means of accomplishing the job’s purpose and objectives. Following are the essential functions of the job.***I****n collaboration with operations partner:****Regional Center Leadership*** Direct the identification, development, and implementation of programs centered on quality and operational excellence* Work collaboratively to facilitate the design, development, and implementation of policies, procedures, and practices related to center operations* Ensure market compliance with all federal and state regulations, accreditation organizations, and joint venture/partner requests* Oversee maintenance of appropriate staffing levels center operations staff and providers for all market sites; includes, but not limited to developing the staffing model, collaboration with talent acquisition to interview and hire new team members, and providing guidance to the management team on staffing practices* Responsible for review and assessment of key performance indicators (KPIs), provide feedback to managers on operational performance, and make recommendations on improvements as needed* Enhance market operations by supporting all cross-market initiatives; provides guidance and best practices to OSMs, ensures timelines are met, and develops and implements cross market processes and procedures* Collaborate with other markets to collect information, share best practices across markets, develop training plans, and capture data to track and monitor progress* Responsible for managing market-wide initiatives, including project management and outcome assessment* Develops, implements, and periodically reviews clinical policies and procedures of the organization, as well as performance standards for providers that guide and support the provision of services to maintain and improve the quality of patient care and the proper functioning of the clinics.* Responds to needs and directs clinical staff during environmental and other unforeseen emergency events as directed by the Medical Director and/or Northwell-GoHealth leadership.* Accountable for facilitating the achievement of organizational targets for center EBIDTA, staff to model targets, NPS, DTD time, and other then current KPIs including clinical quality metrics**Strategic Planning*** Develop relationships with local providers and service agencies to improve bi-directional patient flow. This will include Northwell-employed, as well as private practice physicians, and other sources of patient referrals as well as follow-up opportunities, such as nursing homes, community agencies, etc* + Use these relationships to build new programs which support outside entities in their care missions, as well as driving new business to the Northwell-GoHealth network.* Collaborate with the Medical Director/Deputy Medical Director, operational leader partner, and Northwell-GoHealth leadership to address site-specific issues with both targeted and generalized measures to improve performance* Partner with the GoHealth Chief Medical Officer on national and local strategic initiatives**Clinical*** Provide direct patient care as a scheduled provider for the requisite number of hours per pay period as stipulated by leadership* Respond to volume surges and other unforeseen circumstances to preserve the patient's experience and prevent patient reneging by providing direction in redeploying clinical staff* Quality* Oversees the following at each site in the local area, including but not limited to:* Clinical Quality and Performance Improvement programming* Adherence to system clinical performance standards* Financial and Budgetary Performance* Standard operating procedures* Implementation of technologies and new equipment, coupled with training in those resources* Perform chart audits for clinical KPI monitoring at the center, organizational, and individual level as directed by the Medical Director and/or Deputy Medical Director* Participates with formal and ad hoc groups within GoHealth and the network Healthcare Partner as needed and requested by the Medical Director or deputy medical director**Human Resources*** Assists in recruitment, provider qualification and training, maintenance of competencies, proficiency testing, and regulatory compliance* Evaluates and remediates provider professional conduct and clinical performance in collaboration with GoHealth HR, JV Health system partner and their policies on employee assessment and discipline.**Teaching*** Mentors new and existing employees in important aspects of care include EMR functionality, equipment use, clinical care, and organizational imperativesAll other duties as assigned.*Note: This job description is not inclusive of all the duties of the position.
