About the Role As a
Shift Lead , you play a key role in supporting daily dispensary operations by providing on‑shift leadership, operational continuity, and compliance awareness. This position is designed for experienced Support Staff who demonstrate reliability, cannabis knowledge, and a strong sense of responsibility on the sales floor.
While this role does not include formal people‑management authority, Shift Leads are trusted to act as a point of contact during their shift, assist with operational flow, and ensure customers receive a consistent, high‑quality experience. A working understanding of both
Sales and Inventory
functions is expected to support smooth coordination throughout the day.
What You'll Do During your shift, you'll help keep the dispensary running smoothly by supporting floor flow, register coverage, and customer service needs. You may serve as the on‑shift point of contact when management is not present and will assist with opening and closing procedures, including register and cash handling.
You'll maintain awareness of sales and inventory processes, assist with compliance documentation as assigned, and communicate any concerns or discrepancies to management for follow‑up. Completing required logs, checklists, and shift documentation accurately and on time is an essential part of the role.
Above all, Shift Leads are expected to lead by example - maintaining professionalism, supporting the team, and helping foster a positive, accountable work environment.
What This Role Is - and Is Not This role focuses on
on‑shift leadership and operational support , not employee management. Shift Leads do not have authority to discipline, coach, or evaluate employees, nor are they responsible for hiring, scheduling, payroll, or approving policy exceptions. All people‑management decisions remain with store leadership.
What We're Looking For We're seeking dependable, calm, and organized individuals who thrive in a fast‑paced retail environment. Ideal candidates have prior cannabis retail experience (or comparable retail experience), a solid understanding of sales and inventory workflows, and the ability to communicate clearly with both team members and leadership.
Reliable attendance, professionalism under pressure, and a strong customer‑service mindset are essential for success in this role.

High School Diploma or GED
Minimum 6–12 months of cannabis retail or equivalent retail experience
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to required weight limits
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must meet all state requirements for cannabis industry employment
