The purpose of the Program Coordinator I is to assist with the coordination of services with the state's rural and under resourced communities to identify community development issues and determine appropriate solutions.
Responsibilities of the Program Coordinator I:
Coordinates with local, state and federal officials and organizations to identify areas of need for community development and propose policy-based solutions to determining methods to address these needs, including, but not limited to accessible housing; education; food access; healthcare; public accommodations; planning, zoning, building policies and regulation; and utility infrastructure.
Assists with the development and facilitation of education and training programs that provide information and resources for and to address the needs of constituent communities.
Assists with conducting research, compile data, and create reports and other documents for publication concerning issues, solutions, programs and initiatives to better assist the state's rural and under resourced communities.
Assists with the research, seeking and administration of grant and other funding opportunities to support new and existing community development programs and services, and oversee programmatic and evaluations of obtained funding.
Coordinates a calendar of events, and events recognizing rural and under resourced communities.
Other duties as assigned.
A high school diploma and relevant program experience in community and/or economic development or public administration, or a bachelor's degree in a relevant academic field may be substituted for the required work experience.

Additional Requirements:
May require some overnight travel and work beyond 37.5 hour/week and could include nights, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
