Sanitation/Flour Processing Backup (FA-1 Helper)
Join General Mills Manufacturing as a Sanitation and Flour Processing Backup (FA‑1 Helper) located in Kansas City, MO. In this role you will maintain sanitation standards, assist safety checks, complete the Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) tasks, perform bin measurements and store tools properly, and help with system start‑up and shut‑down as well as magnet checks. The position requires operational skills, safety awareness, sanitation practices, and the ability to learn and cover the FA‑1 Operator role.
Shift Hours
8‑hour shifts – 1st shift 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays.
Plant operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Pay
$23.90 per hour.
Shift differential: additional $0.55 per hour for 2nd and 3rd shift work.
Benefits
15 days (120 hours) of vacation annually and 11 paid holidays.

Training and coverage – train and become proficient in the FA‑1 Operator position to cover absences (DAT, call‑offs, etc.).
System knowledge – learn and understand Wondra and Self‑Rising processing systems, including equipment operation, start‑up/shut‑down procedures and troubleshooting.
Safety – knowledge of safety protocols, lockout procedures, alarm systems and emergency stops is essential.
Operations
Operating Wondra and Self‑Rising systems, including equipment adjustments and monitoring.
Ingredient weighing and documentation (MQIS).
Quality checks and sampling.
Flour transfers in the 800 bin system.
Sanitation – perform blow‑downs, complete MSS items and maintain cleanliness.
Maintenance – complete minor repairs and generate work orders for larger issues.
What you have to offer
Minimum a high school diploma or GED.
Minimum 3 years of related industry experience.
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
Ability to work independently and as a team with flexibility to quickly shift work priorities.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces.
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, hair/beard net and gloves when required.
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions.
Willing to work around industrial high‑speed moving machinery.
Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment.
