High School Math Teacher, 9–12, State‑certified educator delivering online course content.
Essential Functions:
Takes ownership of student academic progress and attendance, communicating high expectations.
Prepares students for high‑stakes standardized tests.
Conducts live synchronous teaching – minimum 15 hours per week.
Supports asynchronous objectives, composing emails, planning course objectives, preparing learning plans, using data to determine student needs.
Collaborates with others regarding instruction, resources, interventions, and data related to student needs and professional development.
Submits grades, maintains gradebook, makes placement and promotion decisions, generates reports.
Relationship Building:
Establishes and maintains positive rapport with families, communicates regularly with students and learning coaches/parents.
Supports learning coaches/parents with student curricular and instructional issues in a virtual classroom environment.
Responds to students, parents, and colleagues in a timely manner.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and six (6) months of student teaching experience.
Meet requirements for Highly Qualified Teacher (HQT) in subject area under No Child Left Behind (NCLB).
Pedagogical knowledge of content, ability to apply critical thinking.
Knowledge of state content standards, ability to embrace change and adapt to ensure excellent student outcomes.
Ability to work independently, 40+ hours per week, maintain professional home office, travel as required.
Access to reliable high‑speed internet, proficient in Microsoft Office, rapid learning of new technologies.
