Our client is an established company that sells packaging equipment and related products primarily through a distribution channel. They are looking for a Distribution Sales Manager to manage a southwest U.S. territory.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and enhance established Distributors by providing sales support, sales leadership, product and sales skills training, sales management, and motivation
Continuously develop strategies to keep current Distributors vital and growing in sales of equipment and solutions
Establish new, qualified partnerships for the sale or integration of Company equipment where appropriate to attain sales revenue and market share gain
Create and maintain Distributor evaluation procedures that would allow Company to identify strengths and weaknesses of new and existing CPs for training and replacement purposes
Oversee the day-to-day tasks of managing all Distributors within the region
Continuously improve the procedures of defining, assigning, and follow-up of sales leads so that the Distributor can close the business
Introduce new products to the Distributors to further develop relationships
Provide training and marketing materials for the Distributor, make joint sales calls with the Distributor’s sales representatives to maximize close ratios
Develop sales opportunities, sales strategies, and value-based solutions through applications evaluations with End User Customers
Represent Company at industry trade shows
Develop sales budgets, forecasts, and periodic sales reports for each Distributor
Conduct oneself with the highest ideal in ethics and integrity
Experience needed:
5+ years of industry and/or packaging equipment sales experience in distribution/Distributor model
Must be a self-starter, highly organized, and able to work well with employees and Distributors
Must have a “Sales Managers” mentality with the understanding that success through other people’s performance is vital to the job
Must have effective business management, presentation, facilitation, and interpersonal skills
Must know how to develop and execute strategic and tactical action plans
Must be available for, and comfortable with, extensive business travel
Must have working capabilities with electronic communication tools and be comfortable with Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.
Compensation/Benefits:
Base salary plus commissions, first year total earnings expected to be 120-130k with potential for uncapped earnings. Bonus potential as well
Mileage paid for use of personal vehicle
Company credit card, laptop, cell phone
