Machinist – Fitter & Turner
Location: Chermside, QLD
Pay: $40/hr + Super + Overtime
Hours: Mon–Thurs 7:00 AM–3:30 PM | Fri 7:00 AM–1:00 PM
Type: Temp to Perm | Immediate Start
About the Role We’re seeking a skilled Machinist – Fitter & Turner to join a long-standing metal manufacturing team in Coopers Plains. You’ll be responsible for machining, fabricating, and maintaining metal components, ensuring all work meets Australian Standards and client specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Operate machining, cutting, drilling, and pressing equipment
Work with manual lathes and precision machining tools
Fabricate and assemble metal components to specification
Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment
Read and interpret technical drawings and work orders
Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace
What We’re Looking For
Trade qualification in Fitting & Turning / Machining, or strong experience in a similar role
Skilled in manual lathe and milling machine operations
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem‑solving skills
Reliable, team‑focused, and safety‑conscious attitude
