Talascend is currently seeking a
Engine Builder II
with a leading automotive manufacturer located in
Livonia, Michigan .
Overview The Engine Builder II assembles and builds sub-assemblies, as well as engines, and is responsible for building and tuning high-performance engines while keeping detailed records of component data.
Responsibilities
Assemble and build any type of engine, following industry standard assembly techniques.
Measure components to close tolerances.
Set and verify part clearances.
Use measuring instruments, such as calipers, gauges, or micrometers.
Use of required hand tools.
Engine build record keeping with component history data.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum of 4 years of engine build experience.
Preferred: Associate degree or post high school education in an automotive related field.
Ability to operate typical shop equipment (hoists, jacks, hand tools, etc.).
Ability to diagnose engine mechanical issues.
Must have basic computer skills and excellent organizational skills.
Must be flexible and eager to learn.
Must pay strong attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with excellent customer service skills.
Ability to work overtime as needed including weekends.
Preferred Requirements
Ability to complete engine teardown/build skills and able to follow 543 charts.
Able to perform simple fabrications.
Ability to weld and perform basic wiring tasks.
Ability to diagnose electrical issues.
Ability to set-up and test using an engine dynamometer.
