Responsibilities
Lead shift operations in the orthopedic/surgical PCU to ensure high‑quality care, excellent patient flow, and superior customer experience.
Plan and staff shift assignments based on patient acuity and skills to meet patient needs.
Coordinate patient flow with care coordinators, discharge planners, and administrative supervisors to achieve expected outcomes.
Monitor patient status, especially seriously ill patients, and provide direct patient care as needed.
Support clinical collaboration, focus on patient length of stay, and lead safety huddles.
Communicate and promote change, problem‑solving, and equipment needs to maintain a regulatory‑ready environment.
Assist with retention strategies and sustain all leader‑driven initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Current RN license in Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; certification in area of expertise preferred.
Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), or Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC) may be required.
Minimum one year of RN experience in an acute‑care setting.
