Academic Program Specialist
Department: SOM Wichita Academic and Student Affairs (ASA)
Position Title: Academic Program Specialist
This role is responsible for planning and executing a variety of student wellness events and the Student Gala throughout the year. It will also oversee the accuracy of the academic calendars for first and second-year students, maintain proctoring schedules, and provide administrative support for the department.
Job Duties
Complete fiscal responsibilities including check request forms, bank deposits, office supply orders, and student reimbursements.
Create and maintain academic calendars for first and second year students.
Communicate with students, faculty, and University administration to ensure accuracy in course management systems.
Make decisions regarding faculty and student absence backup plans.
Find solutions to missing faculty assignments or academic schedule changes.
Oversee deadlines for submission of faculty evaluation results and report creation.
Plan and execute various student wellness events, including the annual Gala.
Assign and maintain proctoring schedules and backup information for all M1 and M2 exams.
Oversee faculty and student recognition awards.
Provide administrative support for the department.
Coordinate MSPE interviews with the associate dean.
Oversee faculty access to electronic academic resources, troubleshoot student issues, and ensure completion of annual student compliance training and Kansas Medical Student Loan contracts.

Required Qualifications
High school diploma.
Experience working with academic programs and/or student affairs in a post-secondary environment.
Experience with project coordination.
Experience working with confidential information.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree.
Attention to detail; ability to work accurately and independently.
Strong communication skills.
Proven multi-tasking and customer service skills.
Experience using Access.
Employment Details Type: Regular
Time: Full time
Rate: Hourly
Pay Range: $26.13 – $39.20 per hour (minimum $26.13, midpoint $32.67, maximum $39.20)
