About Us Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Corporation company, is a trusted partner in providing powerful edge computing hardware and defensive cybersecurity solutions to protect the Federal Government and private enterprises. Our goal is to support the federal government, our allies, mission partners, and private industries in accomplishing their cybersecurity and defense objectives efficiently and securely through cutting‑edge hardware, engineering, and integration services.

Position Overview Sealing Technologies, a Parsons Company, is looking for a Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic and fast‑paced Product Development team. In this role, you will support the design, prototyping, and production of ruggedized systems and enclosures that meet the demanding requirements of the Department of Defense and other mission‑focused customers.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical design, modeling, and integration of electronic systems, with the ability to take a concept from initial requirements through detailed design, prototyping, testing, and transition to production.

Duties and Responsibilities

Design, model, and document mechanical assemblies, enclosures, brackets, and fixtures for electronic and electromechanical systems.

Develop and maintain detailed 3D CAD models and engineering drawings for manufacturing and assembly.

Perform thermal, vibration, and structural analysis to ensure mechanical designs meet performance, reliability, and environmental requirements.

Collaborate closely with electrical, systems, manufacturing engineers, and product management to ensure mechanical designs integrate seamlessly with PCBs, cabling, and other subsystems.

Support prototyping and hands‑on testing, including troubleshooting and design refinement.

Work with suppliers and fabrication partners to source materials, review DFM (Design for Manufacturability) feedback, and resolve production issues.

Participate in engineering design reviews and maintain documentation in accordance with company ISO and DoD quality standards.

Contribute to the continuous improvement of mechanical design and production processes.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline.

1–3+ years of mechanical design experience, preferably in a product development or defense industry environment.

Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (or equivalent 3D CAD software) for part, assembly, and drawing creation.

Experience designing for manufacturability, assembly, and cost (DFM/DFA/DFC).

Hands‑on experience with mechanical prototyping, including machining, 3D printing, and assembly.

Familiarity with thermal and structural analysis methods and tools (e.g., SimScale, SolidWorks Simulation, ANSYS).

Strong understanding of material selection, tolerance stack‑up, and mechanical fastener design.

Ability to work independently and within a cross‑functional engineering team environment.

Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills.

Must have outstanding attention to detail, problem‑solving and self‑starter abilities to not only start new tasks but ask for assistance or guidance when problems emerge.

Perform engineering calculations and simulations to evaluate the performance, strength, and reliability of mechanical designs. Ensure designs adhere to industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience in 2D/3D modeling using Autodesk Inventor and Vault.

Foundational knowledge in FEA‑ and CFD‑based thermal analysis using SimScale.

Familiar with designing sheet metal and foam manufacturing.
