Custom Threading is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented
Receiving Inspection / Inventory Clerk
to support our oilfield operations. This position is responsible for the inspection of incoming materials, maintaining accurate inventory records, and assisting with shipping and logistics.
The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, experience in warehouse or inspection environments, and the ability to work efficiently in outdoor and shop conditions.
Base pay range $20.00/hr - $28.00/hr
Responsibilities
Receive, unload, and stage incoming materials and equipment.
Perform visual and dimensional inspections using calipers, micrometers, and measuring tape.
Identify and report any damage, defects, or discrepancies.
Tag and label materials accurately for traceability.
Verify materials against purchase orders for correct quantity, thread type, and material specification.
Communicate with production, purchasing, and sales regarding material arrivals and issues.
Maintain organized documentation and records in JobBOSS or equivalent system.
Monitor and update protector inventory levels.
Communicate with purchasing department when restock is needed.
Clean, organize, and stage protectors for upcoming jobs.
Verify incoming protectors from vendors against purchase orders.
Maintain correct labeling and storage by customer and job type.
Maintain accurate insert counts and daily usage logs.
Create and process purchase orders and receivers for proprietary inserts.
Separate and label customer-owned inserts (e.g., Coretrax) for return.
Collect and deliver scrap inserts to management three times weekly.
Coordinate with production to forecast upcoming insert requirements.
Assist with loading/unloading trucks and outbound shipping.
Wrap pallets, label shipments, and verify documentation.
Operate forklift safely and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
2+ years experience in receiving, inspection, or warehouse preferred (oilfield environment a plus).
2+ years experience in inventory (oilfield environment a plus).
Proficient with measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, tape measure).
Strong math and conversion skills (fractions, decimals, metric to imperial).
Ability to read and interpret basic part drawings.
Computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and ERP systems (JobBOSS preferred).
Excellent communication and attention to detail.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
Physical & Environmental Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting.
Must be able to lift and move up to 50 lbs. regularly.
Shop environment is not air‑conditioned.
Must pass an eye exam.
