About This Role The Business Development Manager will lead OPF's local business growth by building strong relationships, identifying opportunities, and creating partnerships that benefit small business owners and our organization.
This face‑to‑face sales role requires frequent national and international travel. The ideal candidate enjoys connecting with people, has a marketing mindset, and thrives on building long‑term, trust‑based relationships that fuel business growth.
Responsibilities
Identify and pursue new business opportunities and strategic partnerships across the country.
Build and maintain long‑term relationships with referral partners, clients, and community organizations throughout Central Florida.
Conduct in‑person meetings, presentations, and local events to promote OPF's financial products and services.
Develop and implement local sales and marketing strategies tailored to the Orlando and surrounding markets.
Collaborate with marketing, sales, and operations teams to ensure seamless partner onboarding and client experience.
Negotiate partnership agreements that deliver long‑term mutual value.
Represent OPF at local industry events, conferences, and networking functions in the Orlando area.
Stay informed about local market trends, competitors, and small business needs within the local economy.
Qualifications
Fully bilingual (English and Spanish).
Travel at least once a month nationally and internationally.
Proven track record in business development, partnership management, or related roles, preferably within financial services or fintech.
Demonstrated success in identifying, negotiating, and executing strategic partnerships that drive revenue growth and market expansion.
Strong analytical skills and business acumen with the ability to assess market opportunities, analyze financial data, and develop compelling business cases.
Excellent communication and negotiation skills to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.
Strategic thinker with a results‑oriented mindset and passion for driving business growth through strategic partnerships.
Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize multiple initiatives in a fast‑paced environment.
Entrepreneurial spirit and willingness to take initiative with minimal supervision.
Experience working in cross‑functional teams and collaborating effectively across departments.
Knowledge of the small business financing industry, including alternative lending products, is a plus.
