Job Description New Product Introduction

Packsize is seeking a Project Manager to lead and coordinate New Product Introduction (NPI) initiatives from design to production launch in a manufacturing environment. As a Project Manager, you will lead cross‑functional teams (engineering, marketing, supply chain, etc.) to ensure new products meet cost, quality, and delivery targets by managing timelines, risks, resources, and stakeholder communication. They focus on Design for Manufacturing (DFM), capacity planning, cost analysis, and process optimization. You will also oversee the engineering change process to ensure product and process modifications are accurately reviewed, approved, and implemented across the organization and ensure that cost, quality and delivery goals are met.

What You’ll Do

Program Leadership: Drive new program introduction from design release to production launch.

Project Planning: Develop and maintain detailed project timelines, budgets, and resource plans – identifying critical path items and proactively mitigating risks.

Cross‑Functional Coordination: Facilitate collaboration between R&D, manufacturing, procurement, quality and product teams to ensure design‑for‑manufacturability (DFM) and on‑time readiness.

Risk Management: Identify potential issues early, develop contingency plans, and manage program change control processes.

Supplier Readiness: Partner with supply chain teams to ensure supplier qualification, tooling readiness, and material availability.

Performance Tracking: Use KPIs to track schedule adherence, budget performance, and metrics.

Launch Excellence: Oversee pilot builds, production readiness reviews, and stage‑gate approvals. Ensure smooth transition from prototype to production.

Engineering Change Control

Change Control Management: Lead the end‑to‑end design change process from initiation and impact analysis through approval and implementation.

Cross‑Functional Coordination: Facilitate communication between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, and customer / field services teams to assess change impacts and readiness.

Documentation & Systems: Maintain product configuration control and document traceability with PLM/ERP systems (e.g. Windchill and SAP).

Impact Assessment: Drive comprehensive evaluation of proposed changes, including cost, lead time, material disposition, inventory impact, and validation requirements.

Implementation Oversight: Track and manage the execution of approved changes to ensure proper rollout, effective cut‑in timing, and minimize disruptions to operations.

Reporting: Develop and present KPIs on volume, turnaround time, backlog and implementation rates.

Training and Support: Provide guidance to departments and support staff on change control procedures and documentation best practices.

What You’ll Bring

Excellent communication and organization skills.

Strong aptitude for solving real‑world problems, managing multiple.

Effective at motivating and influencing cross‑functional teams, including individuals outside of direct reporting lines, to achieve shared goals and maintain accountability.

Skilled at developing and delivering executive‑level presentations, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly to all stakeholders.

Experience with ERP systems and CAD tools is a plus.

Education & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field; PMP certification a plus.

5+ years of project management experience in a manufacturing environment.

Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and manage multiple concurrent projects.

Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, design for manufacturability (DFM), and product lifecycle management (PLM).

Travel

10–20% domestic and international travel.

What We Offer The salary range for this role is

$116,860-146,000 USD ; however, Packsize considers several factors when determining compensation when extending a job offer, including but not limited to, the role being offered, the associated responsibilities, the candidate’s prior work experience, education/training, and any special skills.
