Assistant Customer Service Manager - Front End Price Chopper Supermarkets - Market 32, Keene, NH

Salary:

$15.50 - $25.00 per hour

Summary Responsible for ensuring each Front End associate provides fast, friendly, and efficient customer service. Oversees the entire Front End operation of the store, including customer checkout registers, scanning, bottle returns, cleaning of the break room and restrooms, and management of the parking lot and sidewalk area. Ensures all front‑end policies, procedures, and 5S standards are adhered to at all times and supports the Customer Service Manager by communicating company programs to Front End associates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Ensure the highest level of customer service and courtesy at all times.

Maintain company 5S efficiency standards and a clean, organized workstation.

Ask each customer for an AdvantEdge Card and greet them at the beginning and end of each transaction.

Educate associates about shrink prevention and inventory control.

Train, supervise, and schedule cashiers, bottle associates, and service clerks.

Maintain cashier controls, security, and log books in accordance with company policies.

Ensure cash controls and over/short policies are adhered to.

Maintain adequate supplies for front‑end operations and control expenses.

Assist the Customer Service Manager with front‑end expense management (e.g., payroll, cashier over/shorts).

Accurately and efficiently ring customer orders in line with corporate standards.

Record pricing errors promptly and ensure front‑end merchandising racks are properly stocked.

Maintain compliance with all state sanitation regulations.

Perform additional duties assigned by management and uphold all company policies and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications

At least 18 years of age.

Positive performance reviews.

Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Ability to manage others and demonstrate follow‑through.

Strong communication skills.

Basic literacy and basic computer skills.

Education and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent. 1–3 years of related experience.

Physical Requirements

Exposure to cold environment - occasional 1‑3 hours.

Exposure to hot environment - occasional 1‑3 hours.

Bending - constant 5‑8 hours.

Walking - constant 5‑8 hours.

Standing - constant 5‑8 hours.

Sitting - occasional 1‑3 hours.

Squatting/kneeling - constant 5‑8 hours.

Grasping/finger movement & dexterity - constant 5‑8 hours.

Twisting - constant 5‑8 hours.

Pivoting - constant 5‑8 hours.

Lifting - occasional 1‑3 hours up to 75 lbs.

Pushing/pulling - frequent 3‑5 hours up to 75 lbs.

Lifting - frequent 3‑5 hours up to 50 lbs.

Lifting - occasional 1‑3 hours up to 25 lbs.
