About the Role As a Millwright Maintenance at Sharon Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, Niles, OH, you will play a critical role in maintaining, repairing, and rebuilding tube mill production equipment to ensure optimal safety, quality, uptime, rate, and yield. This role is ideal for a mechanically and electrically skilled professional who thrives in a heavy manufacturing environment and is committed to safe, reliable mill operations.
What You’ll Do
Perform mechanical and electrical maintenance on tube mill and production equipment while following all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
Ensure all guards and safety devices are properly installed and functional before returning equipment to service.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and quality issues to minimize downtime, scrap, and delays.
Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeover support on production equipment.
Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, manuals, and technical drawings to complete repairs accurately.
Observe mechanical devices in operation using precision measuring instruments to diagnose malfunctions.
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment as required.
Assist with equipment rebuilds and major repairs to support long‑term reliability.
Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes safely as required.
Monitor parts, tools, and supply inventory and communicate needs to supervision.
Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in compliance with company and OSHA standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and participate in problem‑solving efforts.
Promote and lead health and safety work practices in accordance with company policy and regulatory requirements.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Maintain regular, full‑time, predictable onsite attendance.
Who You Are
5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred.
Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of electrical systems and PLCs.
Proficient in using hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and diagnostic equipment.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and analytical skills.
Effective communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Ability to pass job‑related testing, employment physical, and drug screening.
Physical Abilities
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, push, and pull as required.
Ability to perform work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, noise, and industrial conditions.
