About the Role As a
Maintenance Leader
at
Atlas Tube , a division of
Zekelman Industries , you will play a critical role ensuring safe repair and rebuild of tube mill production equipment. This position focuses on maximizing equipment quality, uptime, rate, and yield through strong electrical and mechanical troubleshooting, disciplined maintenance practices, and a commitment to safety.
What You’ll Do
Perform electrical maintenance on equipment while following all safety procedures, including lockout/tagout (LOTO).
Ensure all guards and safety devices are installed and functional before returning equipment to operation.
Monitor inventory levels of parts, equipment, and supplies and place orders and verify receipts as needed.
Use manual and computerized maintenance management systems to track, inspect, and report equipment status.
Read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and schematics to diagnose and repair equipment and machinery.
Troubleshoot and resolve electrical, mechanical, and quality issues and elevate concerns as needed.
Perform breakdown repairs, preventive maintenance, and changeover tasks on production equipment.
Identify and report safety, quality, operational, or output issues when unable to correct independently.
Observe mechanical devices in operation and use precision instruments to diagnose and resolve problems.
Fabricate repair parts using machine shop tools and equipment.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by complying with safety regulations and company procedures.
Operate powered industrial trucks, overhead cranes, and portable cranes as required.
Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to problem‑solving efforts.
Comply with OSHA standards, including hazard communication, lockout procedures, and ergonomic guidelines.
Promote a culture of health and safety aligned with company policies and regulatory standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Who You Are
5+ years of experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, preferably in a maintenance role.
High school diploma or equivalent preferred; apprenticeship, journeyman training, military service, or equivalent mechanical/electrical training preferred.
Proficiency using hand and power tools, precision measuring devices, and interpreting technical drawings.
Strong mechanical aptitude with familiarity with electrical systems and PLCs.
Ability to communicate effectively in English and perform basic math calculations.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills in a safety‑focused environment.
Ability to pass job‑related testing, an employment physical, and a drug screening.
Strong teamwork skills with a collaborative mindset.
Physical Abilities
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand or walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
Ability to bend, twist, stoop, sit, kneel, crawl, and reach in all directions as needed.
Ability to meet other physical demands as required to safely perform job duties.
