Emergency Medicine Physician - VA Contract
Location
Louis A. Johnson VA Medical Center, 1 Med Center Dr., Clarksburg, WV 26301
Pay Rate $200 to $220 per hour based on experience
Contract Term Base Period of Performance: February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027
Schedule
Emergency Department operates 24 hours per day, 7 days per week, including federal holidays
Shifts based on Emergency Department needs
Current shifts:
7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
8:00 AM to 8:00 PM
9:00 AM to 9:00 PM
10:00 AM to 10:00 PM
12:00 PM to 8:00 PM
7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
Schedule runs Wednesday through Tuesday
Position Overview Provide onsite Emergency Medicine Physician services to Veterans in a VA Emergency Department. Deliver timely emergency care aligned with VA standards and national Emergency Medicine guidelines.
Key Responsibilities
Emergency evaluation, stabilization, treatment, and disposition
Medical, trauma, and psychiatric emergency management
Resuscitation, triage, and diagnostics
Emergency procedures including intubation, central lines, chest tubes, sedation, cardioversion, fracture reduction
Stabilization and transfer coordination
Review inpatient admissions from APPs
Direct provider handoffs
Specialty consult coordination
Discharge education and follow-up instructions
Test result communication per VA policy
Work Setting
Onsite Emergency Department
Federal healthcare environment
High-acuity, team-based setting
Required Qualifications for Submittal
MD or DO
Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine
Active unrestricted U.S. medical license
Active DEA registration
ACLS and BLS certifications
National Provider Identifier
