Job Description

The Kraft Heinz Company is currently seeking a Process Operator to work at our food processing facility in Avon, NY. Successful candidates must be willing to supply improvement suggestions and ideas to help continue the success of our facility. Ideal individuals are safety and quality‑oriented, adaptable, and willing to work in a team‑oriented, fast‑paced work environment. This position requires performing general production duties in a food manufacturing environment while following strict quality and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Perform weekend cleaning and sanitizing activities, including CIP, chemical handling, and maintenance of production equipment. Communicate with the Supervisor or group leader about product changeovers and other necessary information to ensure quality and efficiency. Operate, maintain, and perform minor adjustments on holding, pumping, and whipping equipment, and safely operate bowl dispensing equipment. Understand and apply lockout‑tag‑out requirements for Cherry‑Burrell fillers, ALH system, conveying systems, and CIP components. Operate and maintain the filler jam detection system, visually inspect filler beds, and respond to alarms safely and promptly. Operate Panel mates and Lid/Filler HMIs, and manage the Auto Lid Handling system. Operate all components of the weight control system in accordance with quality and regulatory guidelines. Use the OEE system and maintain associated quality record‑keeping. Coordinate with the platform operator for out‑of‑spec conditions, monitor remelt systems, and manage remelt activity. Perform safe and efficient manual lid loading when ALH is not in use. Complete and submit Powered Equipment Inspection forms; maintain corporate safety, GMP, and HACCP compliance. Read and follow the current production schedule to stage supplies appropriately. Stage packaging materials, complete traceability forms, and ensure compliance with safety and GMP guidelines. Maintain clean and orderly work and staging areas, and observe all safety rules. Record QC testing, downtime, audits, and equipment performance data on various forms or computers.

Other Responsibilities

Recognize and report unusual conditions or defective equipment to the Supervisor. Observe all safety rules, precautions, and practices to ensure personal and team safety. Perform preventative maintenance activities as assigned. Carry out period cleaning as assigned. Engage in rework activities as assigned. Train additional personnel in this operation as required. Participate in the QRMP yearly audit and assist in developing procedures and corrective actions. Perform all other duties that the Supervisor or Group Leader may assign.

Benefits & Compensation Overview

Hourly pay starting at $22.69/hr. A $1.25 shift differential for second shift and $2.50 shift differential for third shift. Paid Vacation.

Physical Demands

Standing up to 12 hours a day. Lifting, pushing, and pulling up to 50 lbs, including overhead work. Repetitive hand motion. Kneeling, twisting, squatting, and climbing stairs. Working in hot (90°F) and cold (–35°F) environments.

Work Environment

Employees perform duties near moving mechanical parts and are exposed to high noise levels, chemicals, frozen products, fumes or airborne particles, constant stair climbing, and slippery floors.

Personal Protective Equipment

Employees are required to wear company‑authorized safety shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, gloves, rubber boots, chemical protection, and other PPE as needed to perform their duties safely.

Qualifications & Competencies

Demonstrated communication and documentation skills. Reading Standard English: ability to read documents written in Standard English (e.g., policy manuals). Conversational speaking: ability to speak one‑to‑one using appropriate vocabulary and grammar. Basic arithmetic, reading, writing, and computer application proficiency. Ability to work independently with minimal guidance and as part of a team.
