- Lead, mentor, and manage a team responsible for material planning, purchasing execution, and inventory control activities.
- Ensure materials are available to meet production and customer demand while controlling inventory levels and minimizing excess or obsolete stock.
- Own shortage management, expediting activities, supplier coordination, and ERP system accuracy.
- Facilitate daily materials or production alignment meetings to address supply constraints and priority issues.
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance to resolve material challenges and avoid production disruptions.
- Monitor and report key performance indicators such as material availability, supplier on-time delivery, schedule adherence, open orders, and expedite activity.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on material flow, planning processes, and inventory accuracy.
- Support cost reduction initiatives, purchase price variance tracking, and engineering change implementation to ensure material readiness and proper system setup.
- Bachelor's degree required.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or material planning.
- At least 3 years of experience leading or managing buyer/planner teams.
- Strong experience working with ERP systems, preferably SAP (MM/PP).
- Prior experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment is required.
- Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and a sense of urgency.
- Proven ability to lead teams and drive execution in a fast-paced environment.
- Effective communicator who can collaborate and influence across functions.
- Proactive, organized, and results-oriented mindset.
- Working knowledge of MRP, bills of material, routings, inventory control, and production scheduling.
- Exposure to Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement methodologies.
- APICS CPIM and/or CSCP certification.
- Experience using data and reporting tools such as Excel, Qlik, or similar platforms.
- Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO or AS-series standards.
- Competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 USD + Bonus
