About the Role
The Company is seeking a Director of Laboratory Services to lead and ensure the operational excellence of its laboratory division. The successful candidate will be responsible for driving strategic initiatives to enhance laboratory performance, efficiency, and service quality. This role involves overseeing all aspects of laboratory operations, including staffing, budgeting, and quality assurance processes, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation. The Director will also be tasked with ensuring compliance with regulatory standards to maintain accreditation and will be expected to manage and mentor a team of professionals.
Key responsibilities for the Director of Laboratory Services include daily oversight of laboratory operations, recruitment, training, and management of laboratory personnel, and the development and implementation of performance metrics and improvement strategies. The role requires a minimum of 5 years' of experience in laboratory management, with a preference for 7 years, and a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with an advanced degree being preferred. Certification in MT or MLT is mandatory. The ideal candidate will have proven leadership skills, a strong knowledge of regulatory standards, experience in budgeting and financial management, and excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with diverse teams. The Director will also be expected to participate in policy-setting committees and manage laboratory budgets to optimize resource allocation.
