About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President of Operations to lead the end-to-end execution of multi-site warehouse and trucking operations, with a strong focus on food safety, compliance, and operational performance. The successful candidate will be a hands-on executive, spending significant time in the field, and will be responsible for multi-site operations leadership, including managing and developing Operations Managers, ensuring consistent execution of SOPs, and directly owning the organization's food safety program. This role requires a seasoned operations leader with a background in food distribution, manufacturing, logistics, or supply chain, who is comfortable moving between the warehouse floor and the executive team, and is energized by a resource-constrained environment.
Applicants for the VP of Operations role at the company should have a minimum of 10 years' of progressive operations leadership experience, with a proven track record in managing multi-site warehouse operations and direct ownership of food safety programs. The role demands a leader who has experience with fleet management, strong Excel skills, and the ability to lead hourly teams while developing managers. The ideal candidate will be willing to travel and is expected to work out of a warehouse regularly. This is a pivotal position that requires a strategic thinker, capable of developing and executing operations strategy, and who can build and maintain operational KPIs. The role is not suited for those who prefer a remote or office-only executive role, have limited exposure to food safety audits, or expect large corporate infrastructure.
