The UVU Exercise Science Department is looking for a Student Instructional Assistant for EXSC 2500. The class meets on Mondays and Wednesdays from 1:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. and on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m.
Responsibilities
Assist in conducting and managing laboratory activities related to sports medicine.
Provide support during in-class activities, including splinting, taping, modalities, monitoring vitals, instructional support, etc.
Help students understand and execute test protocols accurately and safely.
Engage in objective grading of assignments and laboratory practical assessments.
Conduct meetings with students to assist them in completing their final projects, offering guidance, and clarifying course material as needed.
Collaborate with the course instructor to ensure a cohesive and comprehensive learning experience.
Ensure adherence to safety guidelines and ethical standards in the laboratory.
Qualifications
Must be a current UVU Student
The student must have completed the UVU course ESXC 2500.
Strong foundation in sports medicine testing and principles
Previous experience in a laboratory setting, particularly with the equipment used throughout sports medicine, is highly desirable
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with students.
Commitment to fostering a supportive and engaging learning environment.
Ability to work collaboratively with faculty and staff members.
