Description
The Product Engineering Technician (PET) assists a team of Electrical Test and Product Engineers with day-to-day product development engineering activities. The daily activities are varied and can range from desk/computer work to light physical labor.
Working in an active proto line environment or on individual proto tooling equipment will be a major part of this role. Following all safety criteria is a priority and performing product development tests with exactness and attention to detail is essential.
Daily responsibilities may involve designing, organizing and conducting experiments; developing product quality audit tests; data collection and analysis; and creating clear documentation.
Additional Responsibilities
Applies developed knowledge of the job skills, company policies and procedures to complete a wide variety of difficult assignments/tasks. Thorough understanding of the general/technical aspects of the job. Works on assignments that are moderately complex in nature and require ordinary problem resolution and independent judgment. Works under limited supervision and normally receives no instruction on routine work and general instructions given for new assignments.
Education and Experience Required
Typically an Associate's degree or equivalent experience and 4-6 years related experience.
May include highly experienced individuals performing equivalent work who are non-degreed or degreed in an unrelated field.
Knowledge and Skills
Working knowledge in the field of electro mechanical technology and software.
Drafting skills.
