Store/Night Clerk
Smith’s Food & Drug Centers, part of The Kroger Company, is looking for a Store/Night Clerk. The role involves creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service, maintaining a safe and clean environment, and assisting department managers in achieving sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities
Provide outstanding customer service and maintain a friendly, accurate, and clean environment.
Assist the department manager in meeting sales and profit goals and monitor established quality assurance standards.
Stock, label, inventory, and rotate department merchandise to ensure fresh products.
Check product quality, review sell‑by dates, and take appropriate action.
Recommend grocery items, inform customers of specials, and provide product knowledge.
Maintain and monitor temperature logs for cases and coolers.
Adhere to food safety regulations and guidelines.
Practice preventive maintenance, inspect equipment, and report any repair needs.
Identify and report safety risks, accidents, and illegal activity.
Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with store management.
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to handle stressful situations.
Basic math skills (counting, addition, subtraction).
Effective communication skills.
Desired Qualifications
Any retail experience.
Second language (speaking, reading, or writing).
Strong customer‑service orientation and the ability to assist customers with product questions.
Knowledge of department products and ability to recommend items and specials.
Experience with inventory, ordering, and merchandising.
Knowledge of food safety practices and temperature maintenance.
Ability to identify unsafe conditions and report risks.
