Fuel Tankwagon Truck Driver

Minimum Requirements
Valid Class A or B CDL required
Minimum (1) year of commercial driving experience required
Minimum (1) year of fuel or crude oil hauling experience required
X endorsement required
TWIC preferred
The Shift
Day shifts starting around 4‑6am with overtime pay
Essential Duties
Transport fuels by transport or tankwagon trucks, depending on business need and CDL type
Safely drive truck to and from destinations applying knowledge of DOT driving regulations and area roads; observe OSHA, state, and federal safety regulations
Check loads to ensure product is being hauled in an appropriate and safe manner
Verify directions with plant personnel before leaving to ensure delivery to the correct customer and job site
Strive to meet customer expectations and achieve highly positive customer satisfaction survey results consistent with strategic objectives
Develop extensive working relationships with customers, both external and internal, to maximize opportunities and ensure customer needs are addressed
Keep equipment in acceptable condition and cleanliness using approved cleaning materials and supplies
Maintain radio contact with supervisor/dispatch to receive and transmit delivery instructions
Complete pre‑ and post‑trip inspections on truck equipment and supplies (tires, lights, brakes, gas, fuel, oil, water)
Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as minor roadside repairs, determine physical condition, and report defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to company vehicle
Maintain good working knowledge of the traffic routes of the area
Require walking, sitting, lifting, pushing, pulling, and climbing to a significant degree
Be prompt and courteous to customers, co‑workers, and everyone they interact with
Any other duties as assigned
Specific Duties (My Include)
Use basic mechanical knowledge of motor fluids to check motor oil level, hydraulic oil level, coolant level, transmission level, and top off products to proper operating specifications
Identify fluid symbol markings on construction equipment to ensure correct oils are used in correct reservoirs
Ensure construction equipment is properly greased at all fittings
Maintain a productive and professional relationship with field contacts at each jobsite regarding equipment location and changes
Report unsafe acts from equipment operators or verbally/physically aggressive operators
Prepare truck at end of each workday with diesel, DEF, and all oils required for the following day’s service route
Identify and locate diesel fuel and DEF tanks and fill them appropriately
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Effective written and oral communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills and problem‑solving techniques
Collaborate with dispatchers
Maintain vehicles
Plan routes and schedules
Basic knowledge of motor fluids
Understanding of diesel and DEF compartments and requirements within truck
Physically able to climb up and down construction equipment safely while maintaining three‑point contact
