Overview The Painter / Powder Coater is responsible for powder coating and/or painting a variety of manufactured products. This role supports production quality by operating coating systems, ensuring proper application and curing, and maintaining coating equipment while adhering to safety and quality standards.
Job Specifications
Operate powder coating and paint systems, including loading and spraying powder or paint.
Hang and unhang uncoated products.
Operate curing ovens and ensure proper bake cycles.
Perform setup tasks including changing powders or paints and adjusting spray equipment.
Ensure finished products meet quality specifications and standards.
Assist with troubleshooting and basic maintenance of coating equipment.
Support and train team members in powder coating and painting operations.
Experience & Skills
1–5 years of related experience in powder coating, painting, or similar manufacturing roles.
Familiarity with mechanical, electrical, electro‑mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Lockout‑Tagout (LOTO) training required.
Manufacturing industry experience preferred.
Education
High school diploma, GED, or trade school experience preferred.
Ability to perform basic reading, writing, and math functions.
Technical & Language Skills
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, memos, and correspondence.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to read machine drawings and use hand and power tools.
Mathematical & Reasoning Ability
Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
Ability to follow detailed written and oral instructions.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, bend, and stoop throughout the shift.
Lift up to 35 lbs regularly.
Frequent use of hands and arms to handle tools and materials.
Visual acuity for close, color, distance, and peripheral vision, with the ability to adjust focus.
