Pharmacy Customer Service Associate

Responsibilities
Model and deliver a distinctive and delightful customer experience.
Register sales on assigned cash register, provide customers with courteous, fair, friendly, and efficient checkout service.
Assist the pharmacist, under direct supervision, in the practice of pharmacy in accordance with state and federal regulations. Use pharmacy systems to obtain patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
Engage customers and patients by greeting them and offering assistance with products and services. Resolve customer issues and answer questions to ensure a positive customer experience.
Provide customers with courteous, friendly, fast, and efficient service.
Recommend items for sale to customers and recommend trade-up and/or companion items.
Keep counters and shelves clean and well merchandised, take inventory, and maintain records. Check in and price merchandise as required or directed by store manager or shift leader.
Perform duties assigned by Pharmacy Manager, Staff Pharmacist, and Store Manager, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug information, ensuring accurate entry, filling prescriptions, verifying medicine, checking for interactions, and assisting pharmacists in scheduling and workflow.
Report prescription errors immediately to pharmacist on duty and adhere to company policies and procedures regarding pharmacy errors and Quality Improvement Program. Review and comply with the Walgreen Co. Pharmacy Code of Conduct.
Strictly adhere to the Walgreen Co. policy regarding Good Faith Dispensing during applicable prescription dispensing activities.
Handle telephone calls that do not require pharmacist's personal attention, including those to physicians.
Process (correct and resubmit) manual claims for third party program prescription services in a timely and efficient manner, and perform other clerical duties as assigned.
Assist and support Pharmacy Department with inventory management activities such as ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of pharmaceuticals. Maintain knowledge of company asset protection techniques, and file claims for warehouse overages, shortages, or order errors involving Rx drugs.
Ensure compliance with state and local laws regarding regulated products (e.g., alcoholic beverages and tobacco products).
Construct and maintain displays, including promotional, seasonal, super structures, and sale merchandise. Complete resets and revisions as directed.
Assist with separation of food items and product placement as specified by policies/procedures. For consumable items, assist in stock rotation using FIFO and restock outs.
Have working knowledge of store systems and store equipment.
Provide customer service in the photo area, including digital passport photo service, poster print/creative machine, suggestive sale of promotional photo products.
Assume Web pick‑up responsibilities (monitor orders in Picture Care Plus, pick items, deliver orders to customers as they arrive at store).
Assist with exterior and interior maintenance to ensure clean, neat, orderly store condition and appearance.
Comply with all company policies and procedures; maintain respectful relationships with coworkers.
Complete special assignments and other tasks as assigned.
Training & Personal Development
Earn and maintain PTCB certification through the designated training program and/or state‑required certification/registration.
Attend training and complete PPLs requested by manager or assigned by corporate and acquire continuing education credits. Maintain knowledge and skill in healthcare and pharmacy, including latest news and developments.
Basic Qualifications
Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Willingness to work flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
Prefer six months of experience in a retail environment.
Prefer prior work experience with Walgreens.
Prefer good math skills for accurate prescription filling.
Prefer good computer skills.
Prefer knowledge of store inventory control.
Prefer PTCB certification.
