Job Title
Service Technician – Fort Worth, TX
Primary Duties
Reads gas meters for residential, commercial, and industrial customers. Records readings for billing purposes.
Observes and reports all abnormal, dangerous, and/or damaged conditions pertaining to gas meters and adjacent areas.
Observes and reports atmospheric corrosion or damage.
May perform basic service and/or construction work as qualified and required.
Able to train entry level Meter Readers.
Other Duties / Responsibilities
Identifies, addresses, and reports safety and encroachment issues.
Is responsible for the safe operation and inspection of assigned company vehicles and equipment.
Demonstrates support for and adheres to the company’s values, strategies, policies, and procedures; learns the core values of AtmoSpirit, customer service, safety, and the company’s code of conduct, both as an individual contributor, team member, and/or leader of others.
Must become familiar with the contents of the safety manual, live by the spirit of its intent, and become involved in creating and maintaining a safe working environment. Must complete all required safety training.
Minimum Requirements
Educational/Experience Level: High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license.
Must obtain and maintain operator qualifications (OQs) and classroom training for the position and any other required OQs.
Communication Skills: Ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers to obtain and/or provide basic factual information.
Numeric Skills: Ability to perform basic addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Computer Skills: Basic computer skills for data entry, reference and/or retrieval tasks.
Work Conditions
Works in an outdoor environment.
Physical Demands: Ability to bend, stoop, squat, kneel, and/or crouch; walk 500 feet; ascend/descend a 22‑inch step.
Other Requirements
Safety‑Sensitive screening including drug testing, motor vehicle record (MVR) background checks as required by DOT and PHMSA.
