The incumbent works for the Fredericksburg Health Care System (FxHCC) in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as a direct report to the Mental Health Service, and is assigned to the outpatient Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP). The incumbent is a critical member of the outpatient SATP, providing care coordination, assessment, and treatment to Veterans seeking services for substance use disorders (SUD).
Duties The incumbent independently conducts screenings and comprehensive biopsychosocial SUD assessments, formulates diagnostic impressions, facilitates treatment planning, and provides evidence-based psychotherapy to individuals, families, couples and groups. The incumbent is expected to use both Evidence Based Psychotherapy (EBP) and Evidence Based Psychosocial Interventions (EBPI) and evidence‑informed psychosocial interventions, as part of their clinical work with Veterans and families.
