We are currently seeking a detail-oriented and empathetic Family Immigration Paralegal to join our team in Birmingham. Your contributions will directly impact the lives of families striving to stay together in the United States.
Responsibilities
Case Preparation:
Prepare and file family-based petitions, including Adjustment of Status (I-485), Alien Relative Petitions (I-130), Naturalization (N-400), Consular Processing, and Waivers (I-601/I-601A).
Client Communication:
Serve as a primary point of contact for clients, conducting intakes, gathering necessary documentation, and providing case status updates with empathy and professionalism.
Drafting & Management:
Draft legal correspondence, affidavits, and declarations. Manage deadlines and calendar court dates or USCIS appointments.
Translation:
Translate documents and interpret for clients (Spanish fluency is highly preferred, given the client base).
Qualifications
Experience:
Minimum 1–3 years of experience as an immigration paralegal (specifically with family-based petitions).
Hybrid Availability:
Must be local to the Birmingham, AL area and able to work from our office
3 days per week .
Tech Savvy:
Proficiency with case management software (e.g., MyCase, LawLogix, or similar) and Microsoft Office Suite.
Language:
Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a strong plus.
Soft Skills:
Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize under tight deadlines, and a genuine passion for immigrant rights.
Compensation $40,000 - $70,000 per year
