Overview AIT is seeking a Dispatcher I! We are flexible on start time and can earn extra hours on the weekends if applicable.

The Dispatcher I is responsible for overseeing and documenting the pickup and delivery of local shipments, as well as coordinating and communicating shipment information between drivers and delivery agents.

Responsibilities

Routing local freight, dispatching drivers, performing dock checks, tracking shipments, and working with dock staff to ensure movement of freight.

Timely data entry of shipment milestones into MyAIT & AS400 tracking system – pickup, delivery, proof of delivery.

Providing customer service to identify and meet specific customer needs; answer/make customer inquiry calls and address concerns/complaints.

Assigning driver load planning based on local mapping & appointments accordingly.

Identifying and coordinating prioritization of rushed/urgent/last minute shipments.

Other duties and responsibilities as assigned based on business demands.

Other Skills We Hope to See

High School Diploma/GED required; Associate Degree or equivalent preferred.

0-3 years in freight forwarding or customer service/operations experience preferred.

Proficient in Microsoft Office.

Previous experience with AS400 preferred.

Strong problem‑solving and multi‑tasking skills with ability to develop new ideas and innovative solutions.

High attention to detail and organization.

Strong geographic and mapping skills; sense of direction and coordination for route building.

Great interpersonal and communication skills with customers, drivers, and co‑workers—communication is key.
