Position Summary
The Machine Maintenance Technician at Pro‑Tops Inc. is responsible for ensuring the fabrication equipment and production machinery operate at peak performance with minimal downtime. The role performs troubleshooting, preventive maintenance, repair, and installation on mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and CNC-controlled equipment to maximize machine uptime, improve processes, and support production goals safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities Machine Maintenance & Repair
Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic failures on fabrication equipment (bridge saws, CNC machines, polishers, conveyors, etc.).
Perform scheduled preventive maintenance to reduce unplanned downtime.
Replace worn components and adjust machinery to factory specifications and safety standards.
Troubleshooting & Diagnostics
Interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
Utilize root‑cause analysis to correct recurring issues.
Troubleshoot PLC, sensor, motor control, and related systems at a basic to intermediate level.
Preventive & Predictive Maintenance
Maintain maintenance schedules and logs.
Conduct inspections and report potential problems before failures occur.
Coordinate with production teams to schedule maintenance during low‑impact times.
Safety & Compliance
Follow OSHA safety standards and company safety procedures at all times.
Perform Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and other safety procedures.
Ensure machine guards, PPE, and safety systems are in place and functional.
Continuous Improvement
Work with fabrication supervision to implement improvements in machine reliability and efficiency.
Maintain clean, organized work areas and maintenance stores.
Document maintenance activities and machine histories.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
2+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing/fabrication environment (stone or CNC production preferred).
Experience with mechanical systems, basic electrical troubleshooting, hydraulics, and industrial machinery.
Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
Competent with hand tools, measuring tools, and diagnostic test equipment.
Strong problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
Ability to lift 50+ lbs, stand, crouch, climb, and work in varying shop conditions.
Availability for shift work and emergency call‑outs as needed.
Certifications (Preferred): Technical/trade school certification in maintenance, mechanical technology, or related field.
OEM certification (CNC, PLC, hydraulics, etc.) is a plus.
Knowledge or exposure to TPM is a plus.
