Job Title: Injection Molding Operator

$21.25 - $26.65 per hour About the Role
Injection Mold Machine Operator employees are responsible for the packaging and movement of finished product, computer‑based data entry, ticket generation and proper product staging. Also responsible for all aspects of safe machine operation in the area of assigned responsibility. This requires the ability to understand and follow basic good manufacturing practices and guidelines, the ability to recognize, correct, and prevent quality problems, and the ability to troubleshoot all aspects of the Injection Molding process. Responsible for ensuring that all finished product from machines is packaged for shipment according to the customer’s specifications and internal requirements including internal good manufacturing practices/guidelines. Demonstrated ability to start all types of injection presses from a ‘cold’ start state. Employees must be able to understand and explain the function/operation of the injection machine and process parameters on all current plant injection molding equipment. Have the ability to understand and achieve established production standards by setting machine conditions to obtain optimum cycle without sacrificing quality. Demonstrate organizational ability to complete daily clean‑up assignments and maintain good housekeeping throughout the area of responsibility. When a quality problem is detected, the Machine Operator takes corrective action and notifies Lead, Quality and Shift Technician. Demonstrate an understanding of dryer, chiller, mold components and processes and preform dimension locations and measurements. Assist with all mold changes and set‑ups. Minor maintenance activities are required. Follow all established safety rules and guidelines as outlined in the Amcor “No Injuries Safety Contract”; use all required personal protective equipment. Provide support to Blow Mold Machine Operators and other team members to ensure a positive team environment. Perform other related duties as directed by Lead/Supervisor. Maintain product safety and notify any observations that may create a risk to customers. Immediately report any unsafe acts, conditions or accidents in their department. Take reasonable care for self and others to prevent injury. Physical Requirements
Normal Vision, Distant Vision, Near Vision, Hearing/Listening Sitting, Talking/Speaking, Hand/Finger Dexterity, Walking, Standing, Stooping, Pushing/Pulling, Bending, Kneeling, Climbing, Lifting (50+ pounds), Carrying (50+ pounds), Driving – Forklift Lift/push/pull up to 1000 pounds at 50 feet using a hydraulic hand jack. Maximum frequent lifting weight of 75 pounds from ground to 6 feet overhead. Rare frequency of lifting up to 100 pounds from ground to 6 feet overhead. Maximum frequent carrying weight of 75 pounds for 10 feet. Stand/walk up to 11 hours per shift on a concrete floor. Work 12‑hour shifts day or night, including weekends and holidays. Perform bending, turning, kneeling, squatting, crawling, climbing, reaching, wrist turns, grasp, pinch, and finger manipulations. About You
Education: High School Diploma or GED. Previous Blow Mold or Injection Mold training/experience preferred, or experience in manufacturing processes with demonstration of mechanical aptitude. High attention to detail and product/process quality. Ability to recognize and understand numbers and values; enter data accurately into an online database. Ability to visually and mentally make priority decisions/judgment calls. Proficient hand/eye coordination to operate equipment and assemble packaging for shipment. Ability to manage time independently and complete tasks in a fast‑paced production environment. Willing to work any shift and overtime as required. What We Offer You
