Material Handler (1st Shift)
Location:
Richfield, WI (30 minutes from Milwaukee and Waukesha)
Shift:
1st (6 AM – 2:30 PM)
What You'll Be Doing:
Maintain a safety and quality mindset and follow all safety and quality guidelines and protocols.
Operate forklift to move material and/or product throughout the manufacturing plant, including receiving raw materials, moving raw material to production floor, moving work in progress (WIP) product material to and from production floor, moving finished products to appropriate storage area and loading trucks with finished product for shipment, depending on the assigned area you work in.
Utilize scan gun to complete transactions within ERP system and complete all associated paperwork documenting the transactions.
Protect employees and company safety and security through the safe operation of forklifts and reporting and minimizing occurrences such as damage to property, damage to product, and damage to equipment.
Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves or in combos according to predetermined sequence.
Fill requisitions, work orders or requests for materials and distribute them to production areas maintaining staging areas with adequate amount of product and/or material in accordance with the required production rate.
Record amounts of materials or items received or distributed including verifying packing lists and/or product labels.
Clean and maintain equipment, tooling and workspace area, including following the appropriate process for department cross‑over to avoid cross‑contamination.
Support employees in other areas with various production‑related tasks and/or projects.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Assist with miscellaneous tasks in other areas of the manufacturing plant as needed.
Preferred Qualifications (Note: These are preferred and not required. We strongly encourage you to apply even if you don’t tick ALL of these boxes.):
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
1–2 years of experience in a manufacturing setting.
1–2 years of experience operating a powered industrial vehicle.
Forklift certification.
Experience working with ERP system (preferred).
Experience working in a food or pet food manufacturing facility (preferred).
Experience working within an automated manufacturing facility.
