Responsibilities JOB SUMMARY: The Assistant Press Operator will provide a safe work environment through proper training and communication. The Printing Assistant Operator will assist in the set‑up and operation of the press while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment for maximum press efficiency and production quality.
The Assistant Press Operator will assist in the set‑up and operation of the press while maintaining a safe, clean, and organized work environment for maximum press efficiency production quality.
Adheres to all safety policies and procedures while ensuring all team members work within the safety guidelines as established by Berry.
Complete safety orientation and forklift certification training.
Learn to accurately test key print properties.
Understanding of Quality Windows and accurate data entry.
Responsible for ensuring all finished product is within customer specifications.
Demonstrate trouble‑shouting skills.
Assist in maintenance whenever necessary or required.
Read and interpret Job Discrete Routing Sheets and identify raw materials by part numbers.
Understand the operations and functions of press control panels.
Use MSDS sheets properly.
Use SOC sheets and properly fill them out.
Ensure proper housekeeping of the press and adjacent areas.
Ensure proper solvent and ink handling procedures are implemented and followed.
Ensure proper hazardous waste handling procedures are implemented and followed.
Effectively communicate and interact professionally with all people in the work environment.
Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. H.S. Diploma or GED
Manufacturing experience preferred.
Competencies
Knowledge of and skills in the use of office machines (computer and printers) and business procedures. Strong mechanical and mathematical aptitude and experience.
Working Conditions
While performing the duties of the job the employee regularly works near moving machinery and forklift traffic. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate with frequent excursions into high noise areas.
Effort/Physical Demands
Work is performed in a plant environment with frequent contact with others. Requires prolonged standing and frequent bending, stooping and stretching, manual dexterity, the ability to distinguish letters, the ability to distinguish between colors.
Health & Safety Responsibilities
Occasional lifting up to 35 lbs., and the use of equipment.
