Project Engineer

is a key member of the project management team. While specific duties may vary depending on the project’s complexity, common responsibilities include: Job Duties

Manage new-hire safety orientation programs and provide ongoing, job-specific safety training. Perform daily site safety inspections and inspect safety equipment; remove any defective equipment and manage fall-protection equipment inspection procedures. Establish a schedule for the preparation, submittal, review, and acceptance of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs). Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive Job Hazard Analysis program. Ensure subcontractor compliance with safety and health requirements. Compile, analyze, and interpret statistical data related to near-miss incidents, injuries, and illnesses. Participate in fact-finding and Root Cause Analyses for injury/incident investigations and obtain accident and injury reports from jobsites. Record and manage all site safety documentation and provide detailed weekly written reports. Participate in safety pre-construction meetings and pre-work meetings. Facilitate mass safety meetings and required weekly tailgate safety meetings. Compile materials for safety meetings, prepare agendas, and record meeting minutes. Manage and coordinate substance-abuse testing and set up procedures for new jobsites. Facilitate the “Return-to-Work Program” with employees, medical professionals, and project personnel. Serve as liaison for workers’ compensation reporting and case management, and participate in the claims management process. Inform management of existing or potential safety issues that could create dangerous situations. Demonstrate willingness to take on more difficult jobs and perform them correctly, ensuring the job is completed right the first time. Attend training seminars, classes, and conferences to further develop knowledge and skills in areas of specialty. Follow all company standards outlined in the employee, drug and alcohol, and safety handbooks. Skills & Qualifications

Minimum of 3 years of experience in the construction industry Working knowledge of OSHA regulations, standards, and other applicable codes Demonstrated construction safety field experience Intermediate to advanced computer skills with proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) Accurate and precise attention to detail Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations regarding safety Ability to work outdoors the majority of the time Potential exposure to extreme temperatures (hot and cold) Manufacturing, pipeline, and refining environments Confined spaces, including tanks and vessels Limited working surfaces Exposure to noise above 85 decibels and intense odors Climbing up and down stairs and ladders to access trenches and elevated platforms (e.g., scaffolding at significant heights) Lifting equipment and materials weighing 1–50 pounds approximately 50% of the time on a monthly basis Driving, if required, a valid driver’s license and proof of insurability are required. All drivers are subject to a DMV background check. Standing for extended periods Sitting, stooping, crawling, and kneeling Use of a respirator if required for the position Driving, if required for travel Personal Time Off (PTO) Holidays:
