Bakery Team Member (Service Counter) - Part Time
Whole Foods Market is hiring a part‑time Bakery Team Member to support the Bakery service counter. Tasks include preparing and stocking bakery products, maintaining displays, and delivering friendly, efficient customer service.
Base Pay Range $15.00/hour – $24.40/hour (based on skills and experience)
Key Responsibilities
Maintain fresh, appealing displays by cleaning and restocking cases and shelves.
Stock and clean shelves, bins, and display areas.
Monitor spoilage and communicate waste to buyers, Team Leaders, and shift supervisors.
Maintain back stock in good order.
Assist with the sampling program, keeping sample areas full, clean, and appealing.
Help with periodic inventory checks.
Arrive on time, groomed, dressed appropriately, and complete all scheduled shifts and trainings.
Provide excellent customer service, answering phones and pages promptly courteously.
Maximize sales potential by properly preparing, storing, rotating, stocking, and merchandising product.
Follow and comply with Weights & Measures, health & sanitation, safe work practices.
Maintain a clean, sanitary working and shopping environment and keep equipment in good order.
Perform opening, mid, and closing duties as assigned and ensure accuracy of signs and pricing.
Report safety hazards and violations immediately.
Perform other duties as assigned by store, regional, or national leadership.
Job Skills

Basic product knowledge of all bakery items.
Visual inspection for quality and freshness.
Label reading and product familiarity.
Periodic inventory support.

Experience
No prior retail experience required.
Physical Requirements
Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Stand/walk 6–8 hours in an 8‑hour shift.
Manual tasks: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing, pulling.
Typical motions: bending, twisting, squatting, reaching.
Exposure to FDA approved cleaning chemicals.
Temperature exposure:
90°F.
Work in wet and dry conditions.
Flexible schedule including nights, weekends, holidays.
Use of tools/equipment: knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, heavy machinery, ladders.
