Job Summary- 3rd shift position!
The Shake Out Operator is responsible for removing newly cast metal parts from sand molds after the casting process. This role supports production flow by separating castings from sand, scrap, and debris while maintaining safety, quality, and cleanliness standards in a heavy industrial foundry environment.
Key Responsibilities
Remove metal castings from sand molds using shakeout equipment or manual methods
Break down and separate sand from finished castings
Load, unload, and move castings using conveyors, carts, or forklifts (if certified)
Visually inspect castings for obvious defects or damage
Sort castings, scrap metal, and sand according to procedures
Maintain a clean and safe work area around shakeout equipment
Follow all safety rules, PPE requirements, and foundry procedures
Assist with general production and material handling as needed
Qualifications
Ability to work in a hot, dusty, and physically demanding environment
Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy materials (often 50+ lbs)
Comfortable standing, bending, and working on concrete floors for long periods
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
Prior foundry, manufacturing, or industrial experience preferred (not required)
Work Environment
Industrial foundry setting with exposure to heat, dust, noise, and heavy equipment
PPE required (steel-toe boots, gloves, eye and hearing protection)
Fast-paced, team-oriented production environment
