Optimum quality of printed products Observance of all scheduled start and stop times Conservation of material resources, especially newsprint A clean and safe working environment Requirements
Proficiency in Mitsubishi, Wifag or similar newspaper press operations and functions Knowledge of printing techniques, basic ink/water balance, and press quality standards Read and layout press diagrams accurately to accommodate color demand while maintaining maximum labor and waste efficiencies Ability to layout press runs, install leads, and switch angle bars Proficient in all reel room operations and procedures Understanding of all reel functions including tensioning system, roll delivery systems, roll/butt diameter Ability to adapt to change, prioritize work, handle multiple tasks, remain flexible, and interact with people while demonstrating patience Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet all deadlines Forklift and clamp truck certification a plus Solid organizational and computer skills, including good working knowledge of general business and Microsoft software programs Ability to lift/carry up to 75 pounds and push/pull up to 2000 pounds; spend most working hours on feet, climb stairs on a six-level press structure, and stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl as required Color vision required; work may involve confined areas and maintenance/cleaning activities Employment Details
