Job description
JOB PURPOSE:
The Sterilization Tech will support the dentist, and team, in providing quality patient care in a fast‑paced environment. Must be able to work independently, sterilize and maintain instruments, equipment, set up and break down of treatment areas, and providing a clean and professional environment in general spaces
Salary: $19-22 per hour Location: ProSmile Wheat Ridge 10135 W 38th Ave, Wheat Ridge, CO 80033 Primary Duties
Setting up and breaking down sterilization area beginning and end of day, as well as making sure all instruments are processing before leaving for lunch.
Breaking down, cleaning, and setting up operatories between patients; (both treatment rooms and hygiene rooms) monitoring who may be behind to help them get the rooms turned around.
Clean supplies, equipment, instruments, and instrument trays, following standard precautions for decontamination.
Running instruments through ultrasonic and sterilizer machines, keeping sterile area clean and organized.
Sterilize and disinfect dental instruments properly: must remove all organic and inorganic materials from dental instruments before sterilization process.
Secondary Duties
Responsible for monthly maintenance of all sterilization equipment, hand pieces, hand piece motors, suction and traps.
Test sterilization equipment weekly to ensure proper functionality
Run suction lines weekly in all treatment and hygiene rooms
Change traps in all operatories once a week
Keep stockroom organized, putting away supplies when they come in and monitoring stock, noting when low on supplies
Stocking all operatories and designated sterilization area(s).
Help assist in bringing patients back, taking photographs and impressions and/or scans when needed.
